Obituaries

Steven D. Castle,  57, died on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at Mount Carmel Emergency Room Franklinton, Columbus. 

He was born on Sept. 10, 1962, in Lima, Ohio, to Charles R. and Barbara F. (Newland) Castle, Sr., and they survive in Ada.  On Nov. 18, 1990, Steven married Beth A. Burklo and she survives in Dublin.

Steven was a retired school superintendant. 

He is also survived by a step daughter, Georgiana Quigley of Gahanna; a grandson, Joseph Quigley; a brother, Charles R. (Jill) Castle, Jr of Ada; and a sister, Cathy (Tom) Coburn of Ada.

A private family service will be held at a later date. It was his wish to be cremated.   

 Sonna L. McPheron,  63, died on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at 12:01 p.m. at her residence in Dola, Ohio.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1956, in Marion, Ohio to the late James and Ethel (Martin) Wright.  On Sept. 27, 1991 Sonna married Calvin D. McPheron and he survives in Dola.

Sonna was a homemaker.

Sonna is also survived by her two sons: John McPheron of Dola and William McPheron of Ada; two brothers: Clement Wright of Marion and Bobby Joe (Amy) Page of Maryville, Tenn.; and two sisters: Wanlu (Robert) Neeld of Galliton, Tenn., and Natuta (Frank) Castle of Rushylvania.

Guy S. Brashear, 83, died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at 11 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on March 9, 1936, in Pulaski County, Missouri, to the late Fred L. and Blanch R. (Hammock) Brashear. Guy married Wilma Salyer.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, and his daughter, Beverly Brashear.

He retired from the Campbell Soup Company where he worked for over 35 years.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957. 

Guy is survived by his step-son, Roger (Carolyn) Dockery of Defiance; and two sisters: Chloe Cole of Ada and June (Henry) Pelton of Swanton.  

Delmar J. Moore, 66, died on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 11:04 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1953, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky,  to the late Sammie and Maudie (Chaffin) Moore. On April 14, 1982 Delmar married Corrine Moore and she survives in Kenton.

Delmar worked as a welder for Union Tank of Marion, he previously worked in the coal mines in Kentucky.  He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Lima.    

Terry L. Fuqua, 59, died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at 5:30 a.m. at the Indian Lake Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1960, in Phoenix, Arizona, to the late Raymond M. and Ruth (Stephenson) Fuqua.  

Terry worked for the Coca-Cola Company. 

 He is survived by a son, Joshua Fuqua of Kenton; a daughter, Deborah Fuqua of Ada; two grandchildren; two brothers: Raymond (Marsha) Fuqua of Ada and Doug Fuqua of Toledo; and four sisters: Sharon Wells of Delphos, Tony Sinift of Toledo, Kathy (Rick) of Hillard Viccaro and Tammy Frazier of Cairo.

Terry was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Fuqua.

Was the owner of Scott’s Services for 31 years

  Richard “Dick” W.  Scott, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at 4:15 a.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

He was born on May 8, 1943, in Alger, Ohio, to the late William W. and Mary C. (Orders) Scott, Sr.  On Nov. 26, 1961, Dick married Susan Kay Saine and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2011.

Dick was a lifelong farmer and was the owner of Scott’s Services for 31 years.  He previously worked for the United Telephone Company of Lima and Teledyne /Ohio Steel.
