Thelma Mae Binkley was a homemaker

Thelma Mae Binkley, age 98, of Ada, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Vancrest of Ada, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 13, 1924, in Hardin County, Ohio to Emmett and Eva (Norman) Martin, Sr. and they preceded her in death. She married Leonard Binkley on December 15, 1951, and he died on February 10, 1989.

Thelma was a homemaker. She attended Grace Gospel Church of Ada.

Surviving is her son, James Binkley of Ada; a sister, Chris Gibson of Ada; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Emmett Martin, Jr.; a sister, Jean Gilroy; a brother-in-law, Thomas Gibson; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Martin.

Mary Lou Nau taught at Oak Harbor

Mary Lou Nau passed away on May 18, 2022, in Ada, Ohio, at the age of 91.

Mary Lou Garland was born on October 2, 1930 in Fremont, OH, the only child of Claude and Bernice Garland.  She graduated from Ross High School in 1948 before attending Heidelberg College where she was a leader of the Philathean Literary Society.  Upon graduation, she embarked on a long career in education.  Mary Lou taught classes ranging from kindergarten to high school in the Oak Harbor, Ohio school system.  She served in the classroom for several decades where she touched the lives of thousands of students.  Mary Lou loved geography, traveling the world and learning about different cultures. 

Ronnie L. Dunbar worked in construction

Ronnie L. Dunbar, age 55, of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on March 24, 1967, in Lima, Ohio to the late Marvin N. and Sylvia Joyce (Crooks) Dunbar.

Ronnie is survived by his three siblings: Randy Dunbar of Ada, Ricky Dunbar of Bowling Green, and Pamela (Larry) Grigsby of Florida.

Ronnie worked in construction. 

It was his wish to be cremated.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Charles A. Zuppardo Sr. was a truck driver

Charles A. “Charlie” Zuppardo, Sr., age 91, of Lima, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 4:44 a.m. at the Springview Manor, Lima.

He was born on October 3, 1930, in Lima, Ohio to the late Joseph and Gentile (Taggi) Zuppardo.  Charlie married Rosie Poling on June 26, 1948, and she preceded him in death on October 6, 1996.  On July 6, 2000, Charlie married Mary J. Ward Helser and she survives in Lima.         

Marvin L. Ford was an auctioneer and farmer

Marvin L.  “Lukey” Ford, Jr., age 81, of Harrod, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 1:16 p.m. at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 20, 1940, to the late Marvin Sr. and Ethel (Wierman) Ford.  On August 7, 1961, Marvin married Marilyn (Kline) Ford; they were married for sixty years, she survives in Harrod.

Private memorials will be held for Jeffrey Parkins and Peggy Parkins

Jeffrey Parkins and Peggy Parkins died on May 7, 2022 at their residence in McGuffey due to a house fire. Memorial services will be private with Price-McElroy Funeral Home of Kenton assisting the family with arrangements. 

PEGGY PARKINS

Peggy was born in Lima on April 7, 1968 to Janet Evans of Lima and the late Roscoe Evans. On April 6, 2020 she married Tony Parkins Sr. and he survives in McGuffey.

Also surviving are her children; Sharayah (Daniel) Blackowske, Jason (Ashley) Barron, Austin (Elizabeth) Barron, Tony (April) Parkins Jr., Roger (Mary) Parkins and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
