So you’ve decided to start eating healthy this year, but have no idea where to start.

Honestly speaking, you may even be a little discouraged at the thought. Fruits and vegetables….ugh!  Rest assured healthy eating does not have to be overwhelming or boring.

The first thing to remember is to start small. “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Lasting lifestyle changes are most effective when done in small steps. For example, try incorporating or replacing one snack each day with a fruit or vegetable.

New divisional breakdowns for the upcoming fall sports of football, volleyball and soccer were approved by the Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors during its January meeting last Thursday.

Ada's divisions follow:
• Football - Division VI
• Volleyball - Division IV
• Soccer, Boys and Girls - Division III

RUMAROI was spotted in the McIntosh parking lot on the Ohio Northern University campus. It's on a grey Nissan.

Ohio Northern junior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week.

The junior earned the honor for the second time in her career and the second time this season.

In Northern's two meets this week, Watson posted a perfect 6-0 record in her events.

In a 127-112 victory over Baldwin Wallace, the junior helped the 200 medley relay team take first place in 1:55.72.

Watson followed that up with victories in the 50 free in :26.32 and the 100 back in 1:02.91.

January 31 is the deadline to purchase dog tags. After that date, tags will cost twice as much. Tags may be purchased at the Liberty National Bank in Ada or the dog shelter in Kenton.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
