Ada's latest news

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team remained at No. 14 in the fifth weekly D3Hoops.com poll, released on Tuesdayevening. There are 435 division 3 schools that play women's basketball.

After falling in their season-opener to Bluffton, the Polar Bears (10-1 overall, 4-0 OAC) have won 10 straight.

The addition to the Ada Public Library moves forward into 2018. From this zoom lens view it almost appears that the library and the First United Methodist Church are one and the same.

Village Voice

Village Voice: The 2018 Republic Services refuse and recycling guide is now available in the Ada Water Office.

Many residents find it helpful to keep a copy of the calendar handy to know which day their refuse and recycling pick up will happen.

The current contract the Village holds with Republic Services is in place through
November, and there are no changes planned for pick up this year.

Refuse will still continue to be picked up on Tuesdays, with the possible exception of weeks in which a major holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday.

Well, how about frozen pants?

ADA - Host Ada hung close with Fort Jennings until a late third period run helped lift the Musketeers to a 60-45 non-conference boys basketball win Tuesday night.

The purple and gold fell to 2-8 with their sixth straight defeat, while the Musketeers improved to 6-3 with the victory.

Ada trailed just 31-26 midway through the third quarter, but FJ reeled off a 15-3 flurry to take control of the game. The visitors never led by less than 14 over the final seven minutes.

The Musketeers increased the margin to as many as 19 before scrappy Ada ended on a 6-2 spurt.
