NAPOLEON - Ada's Klava Katayama and Zach Beaschler each claimed individual wins as the Bulldog swim teams competed at the 14-team Wildcat Invitational in Napoleon Saturday.

 

Ada sophomore Katayama won the 200 freestyle race while senior Beaschler captured the 200 individual medley event to pace the Bulldog swimmers.

 

The Lady Bullogs finished 10th out of 14 teams, and the Bulldogs boys came in ninth out of 11 squads.

 

Napoleon won the girls team title with 599 points, followed by Akron Hoban with 423. Ada scored 54 points.

One of Ada's "must-see" business displays is indoors.

It's at New Leaf Lawn Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada. The retail area is transformed into a winter wonderland of holiday decorations.

This year the New Leaf staff created a charming holiday feeling in the store. And, of course, their decorating ideas are for customers to purchase and place in their own homes.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.

1935 Ada Schools withdrew from the county system to become Exempted Village School District. This move made the school district directly responsible to the state department of education.

September 1935 Play-by-play announcing of high school football games was inaugurated here with Leland Smull and Harold Huber in charge.
