Terry A. Stevens, age 65, died on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 8:43 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on August 28, 1952 in Peru, Indiana to the late Russell E. and Lila M. (Mosher) Stevens. On October 21, 2000 Terry married Erma J. (Wright) Stevens and she survives in Ada.
Terry retired from the U.S. Navy. After retirement he worked as a builder in construction. He attended the Lima First Assembly of God.
Robert Cole, 85, died on Nov. 23, 2017,at the Pines nursing facility at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was born May 6, 1932, in Ada, to Robert and Eunice Cole, who proceeded him in death. He married Carolyn Rayl Cole in 1951, and she also proceeded him in death.
Formally of Ada, Robert was the owner of Cole Humphrey Insurance Agency for close to 50 years and was an active member of the Ada Rotary club. He was a graduate of Ada High School and Ohio Northern University.
Senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 19-26.
Bullimore earned the honor for the third time in her career.
The senior led Northern to a 2-0 week after posting her 22nd and 23rd career double-doubles. She currently leads the OAC in scoring average (17.3 ppg) and blocks (9).
Amy led Northern in scoring in both victories during the week and climbed into 11th place on Northern's all-time scoring list with 1,061 career points.
Senior guard Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) has been named the Men's Basketball Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 19-26.
The senior earned the honor for the first time in his career.
Burger led the Polar Bears to a 2-1 week, averaging a team-best 26.7 points per contest, dishing out 20 assists and adding 10 steals during the week.
After scoring 30 points in a season-opening victory over Defiance, Burger followed up the performance with a career-high 33 points in a heartbreaking 77-73 loss to No. 9-ranked Washington (Mo.).
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Brauen celebrated 70 years of marriage on Nov. 6.
Keith and the former Esther Lugibihl were married Nov. 6, 1947, by Rev. Ernest Bohn, Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora.
They are the parents of 10 children: Connie (Leland) Crouse of Ada; Julie (John) Mackey of Bluffton; Shirley Brauen of Columbus; Merry (Gene) Augsburger of Pandora; William (Joan) Brauen of Foley, Minnesota; David (Kathleen) Brauen of Harrod; Christine (John) Hochstetler of Bluffton; Donald (Jodi) Brauen of Bluffton; Betty (Gary) Augsburger of Pandora and Janet Brauen of Troy. They have 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
