Ohio Northern University’s Alumni Association presented Distinguished Alumni Awards during a banquet on May 31.
The awards, recognizing outstanding service and loyalty, were presented to Jason Duff, James Gallagher, Michael Grandillo and Steven Roebuck. The banquet was part of Northern’s 2014 Alumni Weekend, held May 30 to June 1.

Ohio Northern University student Elizabeth Druesedow, a senior music performance major from Sharon Center, Ohio, has been named a 2014 Presser Scholar Award recipient. As a Presser Scholar, Druesedow will receive a $4,400 grant.
The award is given to a student who shows excellence in academics and a passion for music. In order to present the scholarship each year, the University must have at least 40 undergraduate music majors enrolled in the program. The recipient must have at least one-third of their credit hours in an area other than music.
This summer, Ohio Northern University will host its 10th Summer Academic and Honors Institute for gifted high school students who will be freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors in 2014-15.
This year’s institute includes 17 challenging courses scheduled over the month of June.
Each weeklong course provides a great way to investigate potential career choices or college majors. Plus, this is the perfect opportunity to interact with other gifted students with instruction provided by ONU professors and special guest lecturers.
Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law will celebrate its 2014 commencement ceremony in the ONU Sports Center on Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. Approximately 100 students will be awarded degrees, and Daniel DiBiasio, Ohio Northern University president, will preside.
The ONU Sports Center is scheduled to open for the commencement exercises at 12:30 p.m. A musical prelude will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the procession of faculty and Juris Doctor candidates.
