The Ohio Northern University Men’s and Women’s Choruses will perform their fall concert in the Snyder Recital Hall of the Presser Hall on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The ONU Men’s Chorus, directed by Dr. Ben Ayling, will perform a varied selection of pieces, including works by Joseph M. Martin and Ethan Sperry and a barbershop piece arranged by Jay Giallombardo featuring the quartet “Half and Half.”
Kori Cioca, a coast guard veteran and sexual assault survivor, will be the guest speaker at an Ohio Northern University Law Career Services Brown Bag Brief in the Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 11:30 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided.
Cioca, a U.S. Coast guard veteran, was sexually assaulted and raped while serving in the military. She was the lead witness in a landmark lawsuit that attempted to bring awareness about sexual assault in the military and to ensure safety for active-duty service members.
ADA —Ohio Northern University Chemistry and Biochemistry Department will introduce its new acquisition of a 400 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (NMR) and commemorate 40 years of NMR spectroscopy at ONU with an open house event in the Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences Room 248 on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Brian Myers, associate professor of chemistry, said the new NMR is an impressive piece of engineering that will dramatically improve the faculty’s ability to more readily carry out cutting edge laboratory research with students as well as improve access for instruction in several of our laboratory courses.
ADA — The Ohio Northern University Department of Music will host the second annual All-Ohio Choral Day on Friday, Nov. 1. More than 170 high school music students and teachers from across the state will participate in the event.
Led by distinguished choral composer Joseph M. Martin and assisted by Ben Ayling, ONU director of choral activities, the students will join University Singers, the select mixed ensemble at ONU, in a day of music-making and education.
ADA — Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents Band-o-Rama on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m.
The Ohio Northern University Marching Band offers an exciting performance to celebrate another successful season when they perform selections from their 2013 program “Divalicious.”
Ninety percent of Ohio Northern University’s law school graduates passed Ohio’s July 2013 bar examination on their first attempt, and 90 percent of all ONU law graduates who took the bar passed. ONU’s Pettit College of Law ranked second among Ohio law schools in overall passage rate and third in the passage rate of first-time takers.
Richard Bales, dean of the Pettit College of Law, said, “ONU Law’s consistently high bar passage rate over the last several years reflects the strong work ethic and abilities of our students and the high caliber of legal education they receive at ONU Law.”
