Amanda Quintrell excited about her new role at ReStore Community Center

Like her friend Julie Brewer before her, ReStore Community Center is where she wants to be right now.

An Indiana native, Amanda Quintrell, a 2011 graduate with a degree in music at Ohio Northern University, decided she wanted to try something different.

Quintrell started working at Restore July 13th. She took over for the previous AmeriCorps VISTA worker, Brewer, who had held the position for two years.
The two are good friends.

College of Pharmacy receives grant to fund clinical study with Kroger

The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy, along with Kroger Pharmacy, has received a Community Pharmacy Foundation grant that will focus on a community-based pharmacogenetic study looking at a person’s genetics relative to drug therapy.

ONU welcomes incoming freshmen with a series of activities

Ohio Northern University opens its doors to the 2012-13 academic year with the traditional move-in day for incoming freshmen and new students on Saturday, Aug. 18. Classes begin on Aug. 22.

When ONU’s residence halls open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, incoming and returning students can begin the process of moving in with the support of the campus community. More than 600 freshmen are expected to arrive on campus this school year.

Students to travel to Republican and Democratic conventions, seminars

Students from Ohio Northern University are traveling to the Republican and Democratic conventions and will participate in The Washington Center’s Democratic and Republican National Convention Academic Seminars.

Eight of the ONU students will attend The Washington Center’s Republican National Convention Seminar in Tampa Bay, Fla., beginning on Aug. 18, and two ONU students will participate in the Democratic National Convention Seminar in Charlotte, N.C., which commences on Aug. 25. The ONU students will join more than 250 students from across the country to attend guest lectures from prominent political leaders and volunteer on-site at the convention grounds.

Cortney Phillips receives Partners in Pharmacy scholarship

Pharmacy student awarded Partners in Pharmacy scholarship

Ohio Northern University student Cortney Phillips, a sixth-year pharmacy major from Akron, Ohio, was awarded the Partners In Pharmacy scholarship from the National Community Pharmacy Foundation Association (NCPA).

Phillips was recognized for her exemplary academic performance, community service, and demonstrated commitment to independent pharmacy. She will receive $2,000 and will be recognized at the national NCPA convention in October.

Pharmacy student’s poster presentation garners third at national convention

Ohio Northern University student Megan Bensi, a fifth-year pharmacy major from Kirtland, Ohio, garnered third place in a student poster presentation at the Drug Information Association (DIA) 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia on June 24-28.

At the convention, Bensi competed against 20 graduate-level students. Her poster, titled “Evaluating Consumer Understanding of Prescription Label Information: An Assessment of USP 2011 Recommendations,” was chosen from a pool of more than 100 students in multiple disciplines from around the world.
