Meet Athena. She is a ten month old female lab mix. Athena weighs 44 pounds and is available now. Can you give her a forever home?

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.

Traditionally, Ada 6th graders help their Village by mulching Railroad Park a few days before school is out for the summer.

This year, the 57 students put down many buckets of black mulch for two hours on Monday afternoon to make the flower beds look even more outstanding.

“Many hands make light work” says the English proverb. Sixth grade teachers assisting were Kim Guagenti, Kristie Reichert, and Kelsie Weber substituting for Chelsea Parson.

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes met on May 21 in the Hardin Northern Ag Building.

Recreation for the night was Chicken Pix led by Makenna Eibling. Leading the meeting was president Rylee Bame. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lainey Thomas and the 4-H Pledge by Cooper Thomas.

Roll call was your favorite thing to do in summer. There were 50 total present, 35 members, 8 advisors, and 7 guests. Shirt forms and money were due at this meeting.

The livestock checklist was discussed by Bob McBride. This checklist was sent in the mail to any member taking a livestock project. Quality Insurance was held at this meeting also for members taking livestock led by Jack McBride.
