Dogs - large and small, with or without costume - annually parade up and down Main Street with their owners on H&H Fest.

Dogs are popular in Ada, especially when the university is in session.

There are a few dog-friendly stores, but on Fest’ Day, they own the street: getting a few pats, checking out other canines, nibble on some dropped crumbs.

Here’s a series of photos of just a few of “man’s best friends” with their owners on Saturday.

When Calvin Fisher drives around Ada, kids often recognize him.

That’s because for three years, he has helped run ReStore’s Picnic in the Park, which provides children with food and activities throughout the summer.

Four members of the Hardin County HEAT cheerleading squad will perform in the 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The four are students at Ada Middle School, Hardin Northern Middle School, Kenton Elementary School and Ridgemont Middle School. Hardin County HEAT Cheerleading is a program of the Hardin County Family YMCA, Kenton. There are four squads comprised of 25 members, ages 3 (preschool) to 15 (10th grade).

Scott and Arlene Allison have headed up the successful Harvest & Herb Fest for five years, but this year is their last.

With three children involved in many sports and school activities, the Allisons thought it was time to turn over the reins to someone else.

Persons interested in heading up the Fest may contact Deb Curlis, president of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, at 419-634-9459.

The Allison's successful run continues this year with over 150 food and craft booths and entertainment featuring some gifted local musicians.

Here are the candidates for queen of the 2015 Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival.

The candidates were judged on three written essays and a personal interview. The queen will be announced Saturday, Sept. 19, at noon, at the entertainment area located at Cole’s Motor Lot in down town Ada as a part of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival.
