A vivid pool of amethyst robes glowed amid the gathering of family and friends who came to celebrate the Ada High School class of 2022 at commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 29. The warm afternoon had graduates and their guests fanning their faces, while speeches and the presentation of diplomas brought some tears and some laughs.
Sixty-seven seniors became graduates, certified by principal Dan Lee and presented with their diplomas by Board of Education president Amy Mullins. A moment of silence was held in loving memory of Garrett Rettig, a classmate who died on December 22, 2021, and his diploma was awarded posthumously.

On May 20, Ada High School presented the Spring Fever Follies talent show with a program titled Together We Got This. (Program attached HERE.)
MC Jillian Allison introduced the performers and broke the ice by roaming the audience and grilling select individuals on "What is your favorite thing?" about her, Jillian, and providing a response in return.
Hancock County’s Cory-Rawson High School took home both the ODOT choice award and people’s choice award in a clean sweep of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1’s annual Paint the Plow contest. The plow’s artwork honors Bluffton Police Department Officer Dominic Francis.
On May 25, The Ada Lions Club honored this year’s scholarship recipients. As recipients were announced, these Ada High School students shared their plans following graduation. The club provided a meal to all scholarship recipients and their families, according Bob Simmons, the club's scholarship chairperson.
This year, the Club awarded seven scholarships for a total of $7250.00. One special scholarship award was given in honor of Joe Allen,who began the mulch project in 2000. Kirsten Poling received this scholarship award.
