At approxminately 3:00 a.m., the Hardin County Sheriff's office reported:
"We are aware that the majority of the county is currently without power. As a result, our non-emergency phone lines are currently down. For all emergencies dial 9-1-1. For all non-emergencies dial 419-673-1905.
"As a reminder--if you encounter a stop light that is out, treat it as a 4-way stop."
COLUMBUS – According to provisional statistics, 16 people were killed on Ohio’s roadways this Thanksgiving holiday. During the five-day reporting period, from Wednesday, November 23 at midnight through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 16 people were killed in 15 fatal crashes. In 2021, there were 14 fatal crashes in which 17 people were killed.
Of the 16 killed this year, two were pedestrians, 10 were not wearing a seat belt and six crashes involved impaired driving.
False reports of active shooters were received in multiple Ohio schools on Wednesday, November 16, including schools in Allen and Hancock counties.
The Icon received a report from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department detailing that “at approximately 9:40 a.m. the Allen County Sheriff’s Office received a call stating there was an active shooter at Lima Temple Christian School with multiple injuries. At 9:43 a.m. law enforcement was on scene and began assessing the situation.”
“The first search of the building was done within minutes and it was immediately clear that the report of an active shooter was false.”
The Hardin County Board of Elections has reported the following unofficial results for the November 8, 2022 General Election for the Village of Ada and Liberty Township.
Unofficial results show that voters approved the new levy for the ambulance district and renewal of the fire department levy.
