The Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at 723 W. Lima St, Lot #2 in Kenton on Tuesday.
Twenty-six individual doses of heroin, 60 capsules of a controlled substance, drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia were seized. Two adult males were arrested, one for an outstanding warrant and one for a probation violation. Additional charges are pending on them as well two women also found at the residence.
The Task Force was assisted by the Kenton Police Department, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Hardin County Special Response Team and the Hardin County Prosecutor’s Office.
When it rained all day on Friday, the mounted posse didn't make the scene at War Memorial Park because it would be unpleasant for youngsters to see the big horses outside in the inclement weather.
Never fear, the children were overjoyed to see the substitute, two miniature horses brought to Ada by the Hardin County Sheriff's Mounted Unit.
The Hardin County sheriff's office has been given a driving simulator that will be used in schools and made available at festivals and fairs.
"The more kids get behind the wheel of the simulator the more lives will be saved," said Sheriff Keith Everhart. "The simulator will help drivers curb poor driving habits."
The simulator was donated by Dom and Terri Tiberi of the Maria Tiberi Foundation as well as from Erie Insurance and Newland-Heydinger Insurance in Kenton.
The simulator will be dedicated to the memories of Keegan McKee and Layton Rogers who both lost their lives in car crashes this year. Members of both families were on hand for the presentation.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said the deaths of a male and female in a rural Ada house Monday night appear be drug related. The bodies have been sent to Lucas County for autopsy.
