Trading began today - using the symbol "LBSI"

OTC Markets Group Inc., today announced Liberty Bancshares Inc., the holding company for Liberty National Bank, headquartered in Ada, has qualified to trade on the OTCQX Best Market.  Liberty Bancshares were previously privately-held.

The OTCQX is the top tier of the three marketplaces for the over-the-counter trading of stocks.

Liberty Bancshares begins trading under the symbol “LBSI.”  Financial disclosure and Real-Time Level 2 quotes for the company are on www.otcmarkets.com.

Extensive feature on "how a cow becomes a football"

From Farm to Field, and Every Point Between: How a Cow Becomes a Football.

That’s the title of an extensive story in the Jan. 31 Sports Illustrated written by Kalyn Kehler. And, the story mentions the Wilson faculty in Ada, including photos of footballs being made.

The lead-in to the story states: “You’ve seen it snapped, thrown, kicked and spiked. But chances are you’ve never considered the origin story of an NFL ball – or how painstaking the process is to get every detail just right.”

The feature also mentions Rodabaugh Brothers Meats, Pandora, a supplier, and Tom Wagner, Bluffton farmer, and steer producer.

Board sees that as a postive sign for the community

According to 2018 records of the Ada Food Pantry, use has declined over the past four years, and the pantry board considers that to be a positive sign for the community.

The accompanying chart shows individuals served by the non-profit Ada organization each month going back to 2011.

Blue: is the average monthly count averaging the years 2011-2015.

Red: is the actual number served in 2016.

White: is the actual number served in 2017.

Grey: is the actual number served in 2018.

Open to Ada students and parents

Ada High School will host a College Credit Plus meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the school auditorium, according to Erinn Prater, school counselor.

The program is for parents and students at Ada junior high and high school. Persons wanting additional information should contact Prater at 418-634-2746, or Dan Lee, high school principal.

Those unable to attend the Feb. 13 meeting can attend an area-wide meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, in Reed Hall at Ohio State University Lima Campus.

This announcement from Ada Bulldogs Facebook provides students with a "Polar Vortex" learning challenge.

Here's what is it all about:
Take a picture of your student doing a learning activity and provide a description of your student and the learning activity and your student could win lunch from Viva Maria’s.

Posts will be entered in a drawing to eat lunch at Viva Maria’s with a friend and the Ada administrators.
