ReStore Community Center served 8,662 meals last year and distributed 122 emergency food packages. The free meals include those served at noon four days a week and during at Crockpot Tuesday at the center, and the 1,500 lunches served to children at War Memorial Park during the summer.

Service begins Feb. 14 - appointments required

Again this year, taxpayers can receive free income tax assistance from ONU business students through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

The service is available from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings beginning Feb. 14 at the business college.

$5,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction

A garage fire in Alger and a field fire in Marion Township are being investigated as arson, according to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

Both fires are being investigated by the Hardin County Fire and Explosion investigation team. 

The Alger Community Fire Association responded both fires.

On Feb. 3 the fire department responded to a garage fire at 207 W. Wagner St. in Alger. The field fire on Feb. 5 was located in the 1200 block of County Road 92 in Marion Township.

This plate is wide open, as far we can can determine. You'll find it in the ONU King-Horn Center parking area. It's on a black Dodge mini-van with a Shawnee Indians sticker on the back window.

Who cares about the Super Bowl game?

Ada already did the Super Bowl. The night before.

It was the first-ever Made In Ada Wilson Football Festival.

A midnight Wison Football drop from the Ada depot, plus a Saturday afternoon and evening of Super Bowl previews, a free football movie, tailgating and a 51-football give-away brought hundreds of fans to downtown.

It packed Ada's restaurants and proclaimed to North America that it's really a small town named Ada that makes the foootball go 'round.

The Icon was there taking photos, videos and talking to people.

We've had a busy day in the elementary! We celebrated 100's day and had a visit from Ronald McDonald who taught us how to cooperate with others and how to be a good friend!
