Several days of rain and light showers put the first annual Hardin County Pullers fall brawl In jeopardy on Saturday, but with a lot of work the area was ready for the contest. The event began only 40 minutes late. Most of the pullers showed up to test their skill and machines, but the crowd was reduced considerably compared to the 4,000 who attended in May. 18,000 solar panels to be installed on nearly 11-acre site

Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday for a giant solar project on campus. The event is open to the public.

Nealy 18,000 panels that collect the sun's energy will be installed on about 11 acres of university-owned land along the east side of Klingler Road south of the stadium.

The project will produce two megawatts of electricity annually, or about 10% of ONU's electric consumption (or enough for 210 average homes.) It will reduce carbon emissions by 2,200 tons.

Ada's restaurant is a franchise owned by Sodexo

Cosi in Ada is OPEN although the company filed for bankruptcy in Boston on Wednesday.

The local restaurant is a franchise owned by Sodexo, not the University. Sodexo, a giant international company, provides the food and maintenance services to ONU.

Northern on Main closed in May. After remodeling and installing an oven to make their signature flat bread, the local restaurant reopened in August as Cosi.

The rise of popular fast casual chains like Panera Bread and Chipotle have created more competition for Cosi. Changing the management and menu did not help either, nor did over expanding.

Participants will perform during first quarter of ONU-John Carroll game

Ohio Northern University cheerleaders host a co-ed cheerleading clinic Saturday, Oct. 15, according to Jami Dellifield and Lauren Krepps, cheerleader advisors.

The clinic is open to any interested youth ages 4 through senior in high school. Participants will perform at the ONU vs. John Carroll football game first quarter. The game starts at 6 p.m. and is the Zeta Tau Alpha Pink Out Game.

Hometown Happenings shows there's an event every day in town

October and November in Ada. It takes six pages of single-spaced type to create the list of all the events.
