Only 15 days remain in March, but lots of events are on the Ada school calendar. Here's a recent update from the Ada school website:

This is an active community. Here are several upcoming events that may be of interest to you. Check them out.

• A Lupus support group will meet at 7 pm on Monday, March 16, at Crossroads Church of God on SR 309 west of Ada. For more information call 440-717-0183.

• The Compassionate Friends will meet at 7 pm on Tuesday, March 17, at First Assembly of God Church at SR 81 and I-75. This is a support group for parents who have lost a child. The organization is for parents grieving the death of a child, whether the death was recent or not.

Medication Disposal Day is Saturday April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon in two Hardin County locations, including one in Ada.

• Kenton location, 75 Washington Blvd., parking lot of the Medical Office building at Hardin Memorial Hospital
• Ada, South Main Street and East College Avenue, parking lot between RiteAid and Northern on Main.

Enter off Main Street and exit onto College Avenue. Acceptable items include household generated pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, liquid medications, household pet medications, medicated lotions and sunscreens.

Hardin County agriculture will celebrate agriculture’s role as part of National Ag Week March 15-21 and Ag Day on Wednesday, March 18. 

The National Ag Day program encourages people to:
• Understand how food and fiber products are produced. 
• Appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products. 
• Value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy. 
• Acknowledge and consider career opportunities in the agriculture, food and fiber industry.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) released grant applications for the 2015 Agricultural and Rural Community Outreach Program (ARCOP). The program, jointly administered by the Ohio FFA Foundation, Ohio FFA Association and ODA, helps local FFA chapters finance worthy community development projects.

Local FFA chapters can submit project proposals until April 1, to the Ohio FFA Foundation. A committee will then select projects to receive grant funds ranging from $750 to $2,500.  Grant winners will be notified by April 15.

The Hardin County Cattle Producers will hold their annual Beef Banquet on Saturday, March 28 in the Community Building at the fairgrounds, starting at 6 p.m.  Pre-sale tickets are $13, while tickets at the door will be $15.  2014 Hardin County Junior Fair Beef Barn Exhibitors tickets are FREE with a reservation given by calling the OSU Extension office at 419-674-2297 or through any Cattle Producers Director by March 20th.  Children 6 and under are also admitted free.
