A major severe weather outbreak - including a squall line
tonight - is expected for AEP's East Utilities. The threat area has been
expanded to include all of AEP's East Utilities. Several disturbances
traversing the top of a hot upper-level ridge will trigger the severe
weather.
AEP meterologists said that a hot ridge over the Plains will expand east on Wednesday placing northwest Ohio in a favorable location for a severe thunderstorm squall line.
While some thunderstorms could develop tonight or early Wednesday morning these storms are not likely to produce severe weather.
A greater threat will develop as temperatures soar toward 90F on Wednesday creating extreme instability. Preliminary data suggests a disturbance moving out of the Upper Midwest could cause a squall line to develop.
The Blanchard Valley Health Foundation has awarded six area students nursing scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year.

They say it takes a village! The Ada Library had a great turnout for their Summer Reading Kick-Off on Saturday; in just 4 hours we had over 250 people stop by our Summer Kick-Off, and 195 people (Birth-Adult) sign-up for Summer Reading!
This is the first year we're including people of all ages and we were overwhelmed by the response and excitement of our patrons! Sign-up continues all throughout the program.
While there are events everyday Monday-Friday at the Library, some really exciting events on our near horizon are:
The Ada Farmers’ Market opens today. It has a new location and new starting date.
Previous to this year, the market was a spring and summer regular feature at the Depot downtown each Thursday.
Deb Curlis, of Community Health Professionals, told The Ada Icon that the market will move to the Health Professionals at 1200 S. Main St. The market will run each Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. starting on June 6. The final market date will be Sept. 26.
The market is open to area vendors who have home-grown or home-made projects. The cost per week is $5, with proceeds going to the Community Health Professionals Hospice Patient Care Fund.
