ADA__The Ada High School volleyball team swept a three-setter over visiting traditional rival Upper Scioto Valley in their non-conference regular season finale on Tuesday, October 7. The evening was also celebrated as Senior Night.
Ada improved to 15-7 after the decisive 25-16, 25-17, 25-13 victory.
USV fell to 4-16 after the loss.
Junior Brooklynn Andreasen led Ada by nailing 11 kills and coming up with four digs.
The Ada High School volleyball team was seeded third in the eight-team, Div. VI Northwest 5 District drawing held on Sunday, October 5.
The Bulldog girls (14-7) will host fifth seed Lima Central Catholic (11-8) in the sectional finals on Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m.
Fourth seed Columbus Grove (9-10) will play sixth seed Spencerville (8-14) in the other lower half sectional final at Ada on Oct. 16 in the second match at approximately 8 p.m.
The Ada/LCC and Grove/Spencerville winners will meet in the district semifinals at Wapakoneta on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Gym “pink out” hosted in support of breast cancer awareness

ADA__The Ada High School volleyball team lost a three-setter to visiting power Pandora-Gilboa in their Blanchard Valley Conference finale match on Monday, October 6.
The evening also provided an opportunity to support breast cancer research. The Bulldogs sold t-shirts as part of the annual Dig for a Cure event. $2,602.41 was donated to the Kenton-based Not by Choice outreach program.
LIMA __The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team defeated non-league rival Lima Central Catholic 5-1 on Monday night, October 6.
Bulldog juniors Carson Coney and Andrew Allen each netted two goals and passed out an assist apiece to pace the victors.
Ada scored two goals in the first half to lead 2-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs outscored the Thunderbirds 3-1 in the second half to put the game out of reach.
The Bulldog record improved to 10-4-2 with the decisive victory. Struggling Lima Central Catholic fell to 2-11-1 after the defeat.
The Ada High School girls soccer team received a fifth seed in their rugged 12-team super sectional drawing on Sunday, October 5.
Ada (10-3-2) will host Kalida (5-8-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in their first round match. The Bulldog girls recently shut out the Wildcats 2-0 in Ada on Sept 27.
“The super sectional set-up helped us to host,” said Ada fourth-year head coach Doug Dewese. “A lot of the higher-seeded teams went to the lower part of our bracket because if they win out, they get a pretty favorable run to regionals.”

Ada (9-4-2) will host the winner between struggling Riverdale (3-12) and Lincolnview (2-9-1) in a sectional final on Saturday, October 18.
“We were excited to earn the number two seed,” said second-year Ada head coach Aaron Acheson. “We had to wait and see which spot Ottoville would choose and once they selected B6, we knew B1 was the pick for us.
