The Polar Bears (13-7 overall, 11-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) run their winning streak to eight games and remain in a first place tie atop the league standings with No. 15-ranked Marietta.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 9-11, 4-9.
Allen scored 21 of his 27 points in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range as ONU led 53-44 at intermission.
WHEATON, Ill. – The Ohio Northern wrestling team competed in the storied Pete Wilson Invitational at Wheaton (Ill.) College this weekend.
This invitational consists of 34 teams from across the country and is the second largest and oldest small-college wrestling tournament in the nation.
The Polar Bears were led by juniors Evan Morgan (Cincinnati/ Elder) and Brad Taton (Mentor/ Lake Catholic) who placed 6th and 8th in their weight classes, respectively.
McGUFFEY - Upper Scioto Valley senior standouts Emily Patton and Shelby Spradlin combined for 51 points to lead the hosts past Hardin County rival Ada 80-46 in their annual girls basketball showdown Tuesday night.
Patton poured in 26 points on the strength of six three-point goals, while Spradlin netted 25 markers.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 7-10 after the defeat. Meanwhile, the Lady Rams improved to 13-3 with their sixth consecutive win at Alumni Fieldhouse.
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Northern wrestling team picked up another dual meet victory Tuesday evening in the Rike Center, defeating host Otterein 30-9.
This victory improves the Polar Bears to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. This keeps the team tied at the top of the OAC along with #9 Baldwin Wallace and Heidelberg.
Ohio Northern also clinches its third consecutive winning season and its 10th straight non-losing campaign.
Otterbein falls to 12-5, 1-3.
Ohio Northern was led by freshman Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area), who picked up a fall at heavyweight for Ohio Northern.
ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team has moved up two spots to No. 6 in the ninth weekly D3Hoops.com poll, released Monday evening.
Northern stayed perfect on the season after an overtime victory at Wilmington and a defeating Capital at the ONU Sports Center last week.
Northern (19-0) is one of eight unbeaten teams in the poll.
Tufts (Mass.) held on to the No. 1 spot with 613 points and 15 first place votes, while Amherst (Mass.) remained at No. 2 with 601 points and six first place votes and St. Thomas (Minn.) moved into third place with 565 points and one first place vote.
The undefeated ONU women's basketball team has a major contest on Wednesday evening that may go a long way in determining the conference championship and the team's national ranking.
Tip off time is 7:30 p.m. In the ONU Sports Center for the ONU-Baldwin Wallace game. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors.
BW is 16-3 overall and in second place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 9-3 record.
ONU is tops in the conference and continues to climb in the Division III polls nationally, now ranking 6.
In their first contest this season, ONU bested BW 60-55 in Berea.
