Zac Dysert Day is coming to Miami University and all of Ada is invited to participate. The Day is Friday, Nov. 23, during the Miami vs. Ball State football game. The time of the game is not yet announced.

Senior Tate Humphreywas solid in his first career start, running and passing Ohio Northern to a 28-14 football victory over Capital Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 1-2 overall and are 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Crusaders fall to 1-2, 1-1. Humphrey completed 15 of 23 passes for 177 yards and two TDs and ran 20 times for 64 yards and a third touchdown for Ohio Northern.

The Ohio Northern women's volleyball team opened up the OAC/HCAC Challenge with a striaght sets victory over Bluffton and a thrilling five set win over Transylvania (Ky.) on Friday.

The Polar Bears are now 14-3 overall.

Bluffton falls to 6-8 while Transy is now 5-10.

ONU got some revenge on the Beavers after losing to them a few weeks ago. Northern won by a score of 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Against Transy, the Polar Bears won 21-25, 25-23, 25-11, 19-25, 15-9.

Senior Ellen Grenert led the way for Northern with 14 kills.

Junior Kristen Davidson and freshman Ellie Gillespie added 12 kills apiece.

The No. 8 Ohio Northern men's soccer dropped a tough 2-0 contest to No. 21 Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday night at Roy Rike Field.

The Polar Bears fall to 7-2-0 while the Battling Bishops improve to 6-1-1.

Ohio Wesleyan jumped on the board in the 11th minute when Colton Bloecher put the ball in the net.

The Battling Bishops extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Matt Shadoan in the 56th minute.

It appeared ONU got on the board in the 66th minute when senior Cameron Johnson put the ball in the net.

But the Polar Bears were whistled for offsides and the goal was waved off.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its first weekly football computer ratings Tuesday, Sept. 18. The weekly computer ratings are released every Tuesday afternoon beginning after the fourth week of the season, leading up to the final report released on Sunday, Oct. 28. The top eight teams in each region qualify for the regional quarterfinals.

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team is ranked No. 20 in the third weekly 2012 Continental Tire/NSCAA Men's Division III poll and is No. 22 in the third weekly D3soccer.com poll, which were released on Tuesday.

In the NSCAA poll, the Polar Bears (4-0-2) were ranked No. 20 in the second poll last week, were ranked No. 18 in the first weekly poll and were ranked No. 12 in the 2012 preseason poll and were No. 13 in the final 2011 NSCAA poll.

Wheaton (Ill.) is ranked No. 1, Emory (Ga.) is second and Trinity (Tex.) is third.
