The Ohio Northern men's soccer team is ranked No. 9 in the third weekly 2012 Continental Tire/NSCAA Men's Division III poll and is No. 8 in the third weekly D3soccer.com poll on Tuesday.
ONU has now been nationally ranked in four of the past five seasons.
In the NSCAA poll, the Polar Bears (7-1-0) were ranked No. 12 in the second poll last week, were ranked No. 4 in the first weekly poll and were ranked No. 12 in the 2012 preseason poll and were No. 11 in the final 2011 NSCAA poll.
Trinity (Tex.) is ranked No. 1, St. Lawrence (N.Y.) is second and Amherst (Mass.) is third.

Last Friday, the Ada Bulldogs visited neighborhood rival Upper Scioto Valley, coming out with a non-conference win over the Rams in the Dogs' third shutout this season. The win puts the Bulldogs at 4-0 (2-0 NWC) for the season and the Rams at 0-4 (0-0 NWCC).

Ada's first score came on the first play of their first offensive possession. Senior running back Kellen Decker took the handoff and ran 33 yards down the middle of the field, breaking a couple of tackles along the way. Junior Hunter Waller kicked the extra point, making it 7-0, Ada, with 10:18 to go in the first quarter.
Ohio Northern celebrated America's Veterans with several ceremonies, including an F-16 flyover, in its 2012 home football opener against Heidelberg on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
But Heidelberg spoiled the party, scoring 29 unanswered second half points to post a 43-7 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over ONU.
The Polar Bears fall to 0-2 overall and are 0-1 in OAC play, while the Student Princes improve to 2-0, 1-0.
The games was Veterans Appreciation Day at ONU and the players wore special camouflage uniforms which were auctioned off to raise money for the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Senior forward Nate Bascom has been named OAC Men's Soccer Player of the week.
In three games this week, Bascom scored five goals in helping the No. 12 Ohio Northern men's soccer team to victories over Wittenberg, Franklin (Ind.) and Transylvania (Ky.).
On Wednesday against Wittenberg, Bascom had a hat trick in the second half as the Polar Bears defeated the Tigers 5-0.
His three goals came in a span of 3:37.
On Friday, Bascom added two more goals as ONU defeated Franklin (Ind.) by a 3-1 score.
This time, he scored two goals in the span of 38 seconds.
The Ada HS Bulldogs boys' soccer team swept past Old Fort 4-0 Thursday for its first win of the season. The victory comes on the heels of two heart-breaking 1-1 ties.

Ada struck paydirt early in the first half when Caleb Garmon scored off an assist by Seth Wright. With 21 minutes left to play in the half, Ben Neville hiked the margin to two, with an assist by Ian Crabtree.
Garmon and Neville combined for two more scores in the second half. Neville scored off a Garmon assist with 18:22 left in the game and, then, at the 11:57 mark, the two reversed the scenario with Garmon scoring off a Neville assist.
