Bulldogs launch the season at Cory-Rawson duals

RAWSON - The Ada wrestling team started its 2019-20 campaign by finishing fifth at the annual Cory-Rawson Duals Saturday.

Delphos Jefferson won the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record. Van Buren (4-1) was second, C-R (3-2) came in third and Ada was fifth (1-4).

The Bulldogs beat Toledo Woodward 18-12 for their win.

"Ada wrestled pretty well, considering how young and inexperienced a majority of our kids are," said new Bulldog head coach David Ames. "Sadly, we were without our 113-pounder because Antonio Petitt suffered a severe concussion earlier in the week.

Don't be surprised if Ada middle schoolers asks for a checker board for Christmas

Attention middle school parents: You might consider a checker board as a Christmas present this year. That's right, checkers.

This month Ada sixth, seventh and eighth grade students are playing something more serious than March Madness and it is catching on. It’s the first-ever Ada middle school checkers tournament. 

With brackets posted across the school cafeteria walls, it appears that December Delirium has captured the imagination of 106 Ada middle school students.

Wilson, Ada's school bulldog mascot, dons a Christmas cap as it camps out in front of the school this month. It's part of the school's holiday decorations.

Based on the results of the Hospital Strength INDEX from iVantage Health Analytics, the Performance Leadership Awards reflect top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the United States in either Quality, Outcomes or Patient Perspective. 

Mercy Health and the Putnam YMCA share a common mission to improve the health and well-being of their communities.

The Putnam County YMCA and Mercy Health have partnered to bring renovations and improved access to the YMCA facility at 101 Putnam Parkway in Ottawa, Ohio.  The “Mercy Health Fitness Room” will feature new equipment, cameras for security, and improved Wi-Fi coverage for members and guests of the YMCA.

Additionally, members of the Putnam YMCA will now enjoy 24-hour access to the Fitness Center.  This improves access to healthy activities for members 18 years or older.
