Local band has some words from the uninformed
The Ada-based band Mississippi Bones is releasing a new album titled “Wise Words from the Uninformed,” according to Dusty Donley.
He told the Icon that the album cover and artwork are a spoof of old tabloids like the Weekly World News.
“The record itself comes with a full tabloid magazine,” said Donley. “Each song on the album is an ‘article’ in the magazine.”
This is the sixth full-length album and 15th release by the band since 2010.
“Originally, we're all from the local area, with most of us graduating from Ada and Hardin Northern,” he added.
Band members include:
Jared Collins of Mt. Victory - vocals, guitars
Dusty Donley of Ada - guitars
Jason Miller of Dunkirk - drums
Derik Dunson of Lima - guitars, vocals
Jason Rector of Columbus - bass, vocals
Heather Collins of Lima - vocals
Josh Palmer of Kenton, from Zombietakeover Media, mixed and mastered the album. “He's mixed and mastered five of our six full-length albums,” said Donley.
“Jared Collins and I realized recently that we have written and recorded 102 songs together over the last 10 years,” said Donley.
CDs are currently in transit and they should be available soon. Orders may be placed by contacting the band through social media page.
“All of our albums are streaming for free on our Bandcamp site and may also be found digitally in all of the usual places, including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon,” said Donley.
