Bulldog Nation Superfan 5K and Fun Run set for Sept. 16
The Bulldog Nation Superfan 5K and Fun Run is set for Sunday, Sept. 16, in the Ada War Memorial Park.
The run begins at 6:15 p.m. and the fun run at 7:30 p.m. Registration is in the band shell from 5 to 6 p.m. A 50/50 raffle and a coach purse raffle takes place at 8 p.m. The 5K is open to ages 7 and older. The fun run is open to runners ages 4 to 12.
The course goes through the Ada Park and will end with a lap around the track in War Memorial Stadium. Runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K. Water stations are at miles 1, 2 and at the finish.
Also planned is a kids’ fun run, which is one lap around the track at 8 p.m.
All finishers will receive a finisher's Superfan spirit item. All fun run participants will receive a Bulldog spirit item. The top two finishers in each age group of the 5K will receive a Bulldog Nation Sweatshirt.
Two participants in the 5K and two participants in the fun run (one male and one female) will receive a long sleeve Bulldog Nation tee and spirit pack for wearing the best superfan costume.
According to event sponsors, Bulldog Superfans are encouraged to line the course in the Ada Park to encourage the run participants.
Superfan spirit items will also be given to members of the crowd who show superfan spirit in their costumes and encouragement to the runners/walkers.
A suggested donation for participants is $5 for the fun run and $15 for the 5K.
Registration forms and donations for all participants must be turned in to Ada High School cheerleading coach, Jami Dellifield, by Sept. 10.
