Volleyball: Kenton goes down to defeat at hands of Bulldogs
Ada sweeps Wildcats in county tilt

ADA - The host Ada volleyball team won in straight sets over Hardin County rival Kenton Monday night to stay undefeated at home.
The lopsided 25-6, 25-10, 25-23 victory, their eighth win in the last nine matches, upped the Lady Bulldog record to 11-6 overall. Kenton fell to 1-8 with the loss.
Junior middle Melina Woods led Ada with nine kills, eight digs, two blocks and one ace.
"Olivia (Alexander) and Melina covered everything," said Ada head coach Melissa Gossard. "The back row did really well defensively."
Junior setter Maddie Gossard doled out nine assists, served five aces and added one block. Senior Vore knocked down four kills while classmate Wyss contributed six kills and one ace.
Junior libero Olivia Alexander hustled up 10 digs and dealt a pair of aces. Freshman Sidney Gossard passed out 10 assists, served four aces and came up with five digs.
"Maddie and Sidney did a really good job of placing serves," said coach Gossard. "Serving is one of our team's fortes. We are definitely improving. We just got conservative in the last set towards the end."
The Bulldog reserves (10-4) also won the JV match 25-15, 25-3.
League-leading Ada (4-0 NWC) visits local traditional conference rival Allen East (6-7, 1-2 NWC) Tuesday evening. It is "Volley for the Cure Night" for breast cancer as well.
"Allen East is a big rivalry," said Gossard. "It will be a good match."
The Bulldogs are 3-4 on the road, 3-2 at neutral sites and 5-0 at home.
