On your mark!
Photos and story by Monty Siekerman
"On your mark"...looks simple enough, the start of the Dolly Dash 5K/Fun Run at ONU on Saturday.
What makes it a Fun Run? Something to do with Oreos, balloons, and eggs.
See the photos below for the fun part of the Dash. Proceeds from the event go to the Dolly Pardon's Imagination Library, which is located in the library in Kenton.
Yes, college students get up early on a chilly Saturday morning in November to support a worthy cause and have a little fun along the way.
Elaina Gollmar (far right) organized the event sponsored by Residence Life. She is resident director of Maglott Hall.
PHOTOS:
The challenge on the first stop on the Dash is for runners to put an Oreo on their forehead, then catch it in their mouth. After successfully completing the task, it's off to the next stop.
Sit on four balloons, pop them, then it's on to the third and final challenge: walking (or running very carefully) with an egg on a spoon. The winner? The Dolly Pardon Imagination Library.
The challenge at Stop #2 is to pop four balloons by sitting on them.
Preparing for the runners to arrive...
