Superintendent: Rumors of school lockdown are false
Rumors this morning (Tuesday, March 20) of a lockdown at Ada Schools are false, according to Meri Skilliter, Ada school superintendent.
She sent that notice at 11:36 a.m. on the [email protected].
Following that announcement, the school issued the following statement:
This morning a note was found on campus that was brought to the attention of administration.
Police, who were already on grounds, and administration investigated the message and found no concern related to safety of staff, students or visitors. The school day proceeded as usual.
Rumors of shooting and/or lockdown are completely false. We continue to monitor the situation and are attempting to identify the source of the note. The safety of our students is our top priority and we would have taken immediate action to lockdown or evacuate had a credible threat been made.
We urge students and families to not share information that has not been validated. Should any changes occur we will update our website and send an alert immediately.
