Four area high school students received Liberty National Bank college scholarships, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, LNB president and chief executive officer.

Brandon Cox is a 2018 Miller City New Cleveland High School graduate. Brandon will be a freshman at The University of Akron this fall, majoring in Computer Engineering. He is the son of Craig and Heather Cox of Leipsic.

Matthew Gebhart is a 2018 Fairbanks High School graduate. Mathew will be a freshman at Columbus State Community College this fall, majoring in Interactive Media. He is the son of David and Theresa Gebhart of Marysville.

Nicolas Kennedy is a 2018 Benjamin Logan High School graduate. Nicolas will be a freshman at the University of Cincinnati this fall, majoring in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering. He is the son of Donna Huffman of Huntsville and Sam Kennedy of Indiana.

Griffin Purcell is a 2018 Bellefontaine High School graduate. Griffin will be a freshman at the University of Toledo this fall, majoring in Chemical Engineering. He is the son of Brian and Joenee` Purcell of Bellefontaine.

Each graduate received a $1,000 scholarship through Liberty National Bank’s scholarship fund.  The employees, under the direction and guidance of Zimmerly, created the fund.  Employees make voluntary donations to the fund.

In addition, the Board of Directors at Liberty National Bank made a commitment to match any money given through the scholarship fund up to a maximum of $500.  The scholarship is a one-time donation to a qualifying senior of an employee.
