Lady Bulldogs fall to powerhouse Eagles

FINDLAY - The Ada girls soccer team ended its regular season with a 9-1 loss at fifth-ranked North Central Ohio Soccer Association foe Liberty-Benton Wednesday evening.
The defeat dropped the Bulldog girls record to 3-12-1. L-B improved to 14-1-1 and 8-0 at home with the victory.
The Lady Eagles raced to a 7-0 lead at halftime, then added two scores after intermission.
Sophomore Timber Blankenship scored the lone Bulldog goal on a blooper over the Eagle goalkeeper's head.
L-B out-shot Ada, 34-13. Bulldog senior keeper Sidney Gossard made 25 saves in goal.
"Liberty has a great program, they are the first seed in our tournament bracket," said Ada head coach Doug Poling. "They have been state-ranked all year."
The Blankenship goal was just the sixth one given up by the stingy Eagles this season, reported Poling. It was also the only goal an NCOSA foe was able to net against L-B this season.
The Lady Bulldogs visit second seed Ashland Crestview (15-0-1) Tuesday, October 15 in sectional first round action. AC edged Bluffton 1-0 Wednesday night.
