Local girls softball team 2nd at tourney
Team tryouts scheduled for July 17-24

FINDLAY--The Northwest Ohio Lady Buckeyes 16U softball travel team took second place during a tournament at Marathon Fields in Findlay last weekend.
NWO went 4-1 in the tourney and lost in the finals to a team from Cleveland, 5-1.
The NWO squad consists of area players from Hardin Northern, Elida, Liberty-Benton, Carey, McComb, Shawnee, Riverside and Leipsic.
Second team All-NWCC first baseman Catherine Overs of HN is a key player for the team. She will be a junior for the Lady Polar Bears in 2023-24.
Coached by Ada varsity softball assistant Rob Overs, the team is also holding try-outs the week of July 10 at the Elida High School field located at 4500 Sunnydale Street in Elida.
Tryout times are from 6-8 p.m.

July 19 - 12U
July 24 - for those who can't make a designated day
July 25 - rainout makeup
