Polar Buddies provide one-on-one activities for K-8 kids
The following invitation has been issued an Ohio Northern service group:
Do you have a kid in grades K-8 at home? ONU has a ton of enthusiastic volunteers who want to spend time with them!
Polar Buddies (previously called Ada Friends) is a community effort between Ohio Northern and Ada (and surrounding schools) in which ONU students are paired up with a younger K-8 child in Ada in a peer mentoring program (similar to Big Brother, Big Sister).
The Ada students ("littles") and ONU students ("bigs") meet up a couple of times a month in a flexible schedule that the bigs set up with their little's family to work around both the big's and little's schedules.
The bigs and littles decide together what activities they want to participate in; popular ones include walks around the ONU campus, ice cream runs, and game/movie/craft nights.
This is a volunteer program so is completely free for families! Please register your kids with the following link. There is no deadline to apply, we can accept kids at any time!
