Big CAT makes short work of Main St. home
By Paula Pyzik Scott
You don’t have to be a toddler in love with big trucks to be fascinated by the sight of building demotion. A two-story home at 615 S. Main St. was demolished on June 24. The property is owned by Ohio Northern University, which purchased the home in 2006 for $125K.
The Icon asked Village Administrator Amanda Sears for some insight on the process and the specifics of this property. She explained that the Village requires Zoning and Demolition permits for the process. The university application shows that there is no plan for construction at this site for the next two years. The property will be leveled, graded and seeded with grass.
The Village provides demolition standards to reduce the impact on neighbors and existing infrastructure such as concrete and other pavement.
The demolition work was done by Ben’s Construction.
Information on Ada construction standards and demolition permits are HERE.
