Ada welcomes traditional backyard arch-rival Allen East to War Memorial Stadium next Friday to climax the season in a battle of teams with identical 3-6 overall records.
It looks to be the last Northwest Conference game for Ada (1-5 NWC) after 60 years in the league, fittingly against their biggest gridiron rival.
In the 21st century the Bulldogs lead the heated series 14-9, highlighted by a 13-game win streak from 2005-17.
But the Mustangs (2-4 NWC) have taken the last five meetings in a row, all in decisive fashion, including 52-7 last year in Harrod. AE also captured four of the five matchups from 2000-04.
The Ada High School football team lost 56-6 to league co-leader Columbus Grove in their annual Northwest Conference Bulldog battle Friday night, October 13, at War Memorial Stadium.
Grove scored touchdowns on all six of its first half possessions to build a 42-0 halftime lead and win going away to stay tied for first place in the NWC.
Ada dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in league play with their second straight defeat. The loss eliminated Ada from playoff contention.
The Ada High School girls soccer team battled visiting powerhouse Miller City tough before losing a hard-fought 2-1 match Thursday evening, October 12, in the regular season finale at War Memorial Stadium.

The Ada girls soccer team placed seven players on the All-North Central Ohio Soccer Association teams in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.
Second-year head coach Doug Dewese was voted North Central Ohio Soccer Association Coach of the Year.
He led Ada to a program record-tying seven wins and a 7-5-3 overall regular season record. The Bulldog girls were 2-2-1 in the rugged NCOSA to finish third out of six teams, believed to be the best league finish in team history.
Ada senior Ella Marshall repeated again as first team All-North Central Ohio Soccer Association for the fourth straight season.
She broke her own Ada program single-season record with 19 goals, and she also set the mark for career goals with 50.
One purple and gold team was guaranteed to win when similarly-colored Northwest Conference foes Ada and Leipsic met in the final league volleyball match of 2023 Tuesday night, October 10.
Unfortunately for the host Bulldogs they lost in three sets to the Vikings in their regular season and home finale 25-9, 25-18, 25-16.
The Bulldogs dropped to 12-10 overall, and finished 2-6 in the NWC with the defeat. Ada ended up seventh in the nine-team league.
Leipsic finished second in the NWC at 7-1 with the victory that improved their overall record to 14-2. The hard-hitting Vikings also shared the Putnam County League crown with Miller City at 5-1.
“Leipsic had great hitters,” said Bulldog head coach Kyleigh Woodruff. “They were solid defensively; there were just not many openings for us to hit into.
“Leipsic put the ball away on their hits,” she added.
