Marshall Brumett 1930-2017

Marshall L. Brumett, age 86, died on Sunday, June 04, 2017 at 3:38 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

            He was born on June 17, 1930 in Huntington, West Virgina to Marshall and Adeline (Epling) Brumett Sr who preceded him in death. On November 9, 1952 Marshall married Alice Mae Miller who preceded him in death on June 9, 2001.

ONU softball ends season 25-13

For the 12th season in a row, the Ohio Northern softball team posted an upper division finish, finishing fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings under first year head coach Jackie Mangola.

The Polar Bears finished 25-13 overall and finished fifth in the OAC standings after posting a 9-9 record in conference play.

Northern saw two athletes earn All-OAChonors.

Senior Kirsten Lightel (Tallmadge) led the list as she earned her third All-OACaccolade in as many years, and was named First Team All-OAC for the second time in her career.

Movie and games set for Park

The public is invited to the Ada Family Center fourth annual Movie in the Park on Saturday, June 10.

The evening begins at War Memorial Park at 6 p.m. with food and games, including a bounce house, corn hole tourney, and 9-square. Hotdogs, candy, and popcorn will be available.

The movie begins at 8:30 p.m.

The Ada Family Center is a church which usually meets in McIntosh Center on Sunday mornings. Ray Hadley is pastor.

ReStore receives grant

ReStore Community Center has received a $2,700 grant from the Hardin County Community Foundation.

Including:
$1,500 for food for lunches, Tuesday dinner, summer lunches at the park;

$1,000 to supplement the Knights of Columbus coat donation with newborn and toddler sizes and provide snow boots;

$200 for the Christmas shopping spree for children to select gifts for their parents and siblings.

Chamber invites you to join Harvest and Herb Fest' parade on Sept. 16

Ada loves parades and here’s your chance to be part of one in September.

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce invites participants to join the 2017 Harvest and Herb Festival parade on Saturday, Sept. 16, according to David Dellifield, chamber president.

The parade forms at 9 a.m. in the Ada schools parking lot. The parade starts at 10 a.m.

June 15 Lunch and Learn focus on annuities

Liberty National-Community Health Professionals event

Liberty National Bank and Community Health Professionals of Ada host a free Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada.

The topic is “Understanding Annuities: The good, the Bad and the Ugly” presented by Michael McMeans, CFP of Liberty Financial Services, LLC.
