Here's a Bluffton Christmas card from 93 seasons ago. It's mailed with a 1 cent stamp to the Icon owner's grandmother, Bertha Hahn, 216 W. Elm St., Bluffton, from her bother, Werner Althaus in Toledo. The postmark is Dec. 15, 1923. The card's message is below.

The Spirit of Christmas has a little bit of Ada as seen here.
Here's two Facebook videos from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office. Watch the deputies deliver foot baskets donated by the Ada High School Future Farmers of America.
A highlight of the season was a shopping trip to downtown Lima

No question about it.
My memories of the best Christmas ever come in a package wrapped from stores located in the Lima public square.
I know. It's sounds impossible to viewers born after Neil A. walked on the moon; but it's true.
There was nothing...nothing like going to Lima and shopping downtown for Christmas.
Picture this: Somewhere on South Main, Lima, there was Porter's Music Store. You could actually select a 33 1/3 rpm album, enter a listening booth and listen to the album in privacy. That way you'd know if you wanted to buy it or pass.
Using poetic license, here's the Icon's version of a familiar story

The Icon offers this Christmas story, repeated from last Christmas.
In the eighth year in the reign of Obama, legislation passed that all U.S. citizens be counted in the county where their ancestors had settled. This unusual census was when Kasich was governor of Ohio and Latta was fifth district representative.
Jose from Lebanon, Ohio, with his young housekeeper, Maria, who was nine-month’s pregnant with someone else’s child, and who Jose had intended to marry, drove to Ada in Jose’s 1996 Mercury Cougar. This was because Jose was a great-great-great-grandson of one of the original immigrants in Liberty Township.

The Wild Steelions steel drum band gave two Christmas performances on Dec. 23. The photo above shows Jacob Bassett, Connor Daugherty, Isabella Mancuso of the group performing at Vancrest of Ada. Later in the afternoon the band performed at Maple Crest, Bluffton. Playing Caribbean music and Christmas songs, members are directed by Dr. Sarah Waters. The Steelions are composed of 12-15 year olds from Ada and Lima who are learning steel drum music.
