First ever Hardin County Family YMCA Musical Theatre Workshop

Friday's noon performance at the courthouse in Kenton concluded the first ever Hardin County Family YMCA Musical Theatre Workshop, which was directed by Cassie Collins.  

 

Six girls, including Mia Musser, Maggie Musser, Briar Davis, Ruby Styer, Maitlyn McLane, and Caitlyn Mabrey, chose their own pieces and costumes.  

 

Through the week long workshop, the kids were introduced to vocal production and improvisation games as well as staging and costume ideas.

Ada Historical Society Special Meeting Notice

The Ada Historical Society will hold a special meeting on at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main St. All of those interested are welcome to attend.

Officers of the Society attended Village Council last Tuesday to discuss the possibility of the group using the village-owned Depot as an Ada history museum. 

 

LaVerne Neal, 1936 - 2018

LaVerne Neal, age 82, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:25 p.m. at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

          She was born on February 25, 1936 in Alger, Ohio to the late Jay and Esther (Tidd) Zeigler.  LaVerne married Richard “Dick” Parker and she later married Harry Neal, whom both preceded her in death.

          LaVerne retired from Mary Rutan Hospital where she worked as a Registered OB Nurse and was a Lamaze instructor.  She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Bellefontaine and a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton.  She served as a 4-H advisor for many years.
