JUNIORS & SENIORS: The Lima News and Bluffton University are sponsoring the Leaders of Tomorrow program. All nominees will be recognized in a special section of the Lima News and invited to attend an awards recognition banquet! The 10 finalists and top honoree will receive special awards! Each school can nominate up to three juniors and three seniors. Apply by Jan. 31.
Russell W. Ludwig was unanimously nominated for another term on the Hardin County Board of Elections by the Hardin County Democrat Executive Committee members at their January meeting at Henry's Restaurant.
Ludwig's name was submitted to the Ohio Secretary of State for his appointment to the term beginning March 1, and ending on Feb. 28, 2017.
The committees endorsed State Representative Ted Letson for Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. All statewide candidates have now been endorsed by the Hardin County Democratic Central and Executive Committees.

I hope this email finds you somewhere where it is warm. Weather like this reminds me of when I was younger and I ventured out to the barn each evening to do chores when it was extremely cold.
Due to blowing and drifting snow in Northwest Ohio, the Ohio Northern swimming and diving teams, the indoor track and field teams and the men's and women's basketball teams have been forced into making schedule changes.
The men's and women's indoor track and field teams will not be travelling to the Defiance Invitational on Saturday.
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will now hold a virtual meet with Case Western Reserve. Each team will swim the meet as scheduled in their own pool, exchange times electronically and score the meet as usual.
In addition to 8 main courses, 7 appetizer items, soups, salads and desserts, the following features will offered at Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, this Friday and Saturday nights.
Main Course: Seared Prosciutto-wrapped Chicken over fettucini in ricotta cheese crème sauce with spinach, shallots and sun-dried tomatoes. Soup du jour: Mushroom Orzo Vegetable: Steamed Broccoli Dessert: Grand Marnier Grilled Oranges

Samuel D. "Sam" Tong, 90, died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born on May 23, 1923, near Carey, Ohio to Joseph B. and Dorotha (Pratt) Tong and they preceded him in death. During his life he was married to Virginia Reese, Rosalind Rhoden, Betty Risner, and Betty Loop.
On January 9, 1989, he married Carole Jett Shaw and they just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She survives in Ada.
Judith A. "Judy" Lasko, 77, died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at 11 p.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1936 in Ada, Ohio, to Ray J. and Helen M. (Doersam) McClure and they preceded her in death. On Aug. 26, 1967, she married Richard Lasko and he survives in Ada.
President Heather Cox called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at noon on Tuesday January 14th in McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University, Ada.
Angela Polacheck was welcomed as a guest.
The member birthdays of Mark Light (January 22nd) and Tom Kier (January 24th) were noted.
The membership anniversary of Bob McCurdy (January 21 1997) was also noted.
It was reported that Mark Light broke his foot his cast looks good). Mark Shull and Bob McCurdy reported that Al Baillis seems to be doing well.
