Ada Public LIbrary's Reading with Rover Program begins Friday, according to Amanda Bennett, library director.

"Youth from Kindergarten through sixth grade can come and read to Snickerdoodle, a certified therapy dog! Studies show that reading to a pooch just might increase literacy in your little ones," said Bennett.

She added that the library still has three spots open for kids. Registration is required, so please call and sign-up for one of these spots:

Ohio Northern University student Anne Wright Liddick, a junior international theatre production major from Greenville, Ind., was awarded the 2014 United State Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) Ohio Valley National Conference Scholarship.

The Village is making preparations to staff the Ada Municipal Pool for the 2014 summer season.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following positions at the pool: assistant manager, head lifeguard, lifeguard and cashier. Some of the positions, such as manager and head lifeguard, could possibly be combined depending on the applications received.

The Delphos Postal Museum, 339 N. Main St., Delphos, will host this month’s Lincoln Highway Association Western Ohio Chapter meeting. The meeting is Tuesday, March 18. The meeting of the Hardin County Democratic Central and Executive Committees scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at Henry’s Restaurant, 995 North Detroit St., Kenton, has been postponed due to the weather conditions. The meeting will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at Henry's Restaurant Kenton.

A intensifying storm will track directly across AEP’s East Utilities today bringing a range of wild weather. Heavy, wet, wind-driven snow now falling over I&M Power & northwest Ohio will gradually become a dry snow as temperatures fall into the 20s. However, enough heavy wet snow has already fallen to generate some problems for the utility.

This year's Ada elementary Spelling Bee takes place at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, March 13, in the school Auditorium, accordingto Suzanne Hardesty.

March 28th: Grades will be sent home with students.

Connie Sue Gross, 70, died on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:48 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.

She was born on October 28, 1943 in Steven Branch, Ky., to James and Pauline (VanHoose) Phillips and they preceded her in death. On July 1, 1961 she married Marion Gross, Jr. and he survives in Alger.

Connie retired after 12 years from Wilson Sporting Goods of Ada, where she worked as a sewer. She operated the Alger Variety Store for 7 years. She was an active member of the Auglaize Free United Baptist Church, Maysville.
