March 2014

My name is Megan Light and I am 11 years old.

This is my third year in 4-H and I am in the Liberty Belles & Boys 4-H club. One of my projects last year was called “Fast Break For Breakfast.” It taught me a lot about how breakfast is a very important meal and how fast and easy breakfast is to make.

My favorite nutritious breakfast recipe to make and eat was called the break-away bars. I liked it because it was a healthy, but delicious snack to eat. My favorite ingredients in the break-away bars were the chocolate chips and peanut butter.

President Heather Cox called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12:00 noon on Tuesday March 4th at the New China Restaurant, Ada.

East Lima Avenue Reconstruction has begun. In an ideal world, progress happens overnight and none of us are inconvenienced while improvements are made. Progress in Ada may not happen overnight, but we do like to warn residents when it’s coming, in an effort to minimize the level of inconvenience.

If you have been near East Lima Avenue in the past week, you probably have seen various construction signs and equipment in the area. The street reconstruction project that was first shared in a public meeting in 2012, officially began last Friday, February 28. The project is expected to finish in October 2014.

What classes are you taking this year?
Advanced Placement U.S. History, English 12 College Prep, Pre-Calculus-Trig, Physics, and French IV.

Are you set on your college plans next year?
I’m thinking seriously of attending ONU. I might major in criminal justice or business and then think about attending law school. I’ve already looked at Butler, Wisconsin and Ohio State.

What sports have you played at Ada?
I lettered in soccer four years, played baseball three years and for the first time ever, this spring, I’m running track.
