AUGUST 13 MEDIA RELEASE – GROB Systems, Inc., a global leader in the development of manufacturing systems and machine tools, has announced that they will be holding a public Open House on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at their 1070 Navajo Drive facilities in Bluffton, Ohio.
The public is invited to visit the facility and tour the recently expanded 500,000 sq. ft. complex. Visitors will have an opportunity to see products in operation and learn about their state-
registered apprenticeship program.

The Ada Farmers & Merchants Parade is a longstanding tradition. Century21 Sunway Realty volunteered to organize the parade starting in 2019, according to Realtor Becky Neville: “We did not have a parade in 2020. Every year it has grown. Ada really supports the parade.”
Overall, there were more than 60 units. Parade organizers start contacting participants in the spring and work on getting sign ups through the summer.
LIMA – The Ada High School boys golf team competed in the rugged 14-team Bluffton Invitational tournament at Lima’s Hidden Creek Golf Club course on a hot Monday, August 11.
The young Bulldog linksters finished last in the tough field despite a few good individual rounds.
Liberty-Benton won the event with 312 strokes, just three shots ahead of second-place Bluffton (315). Wapakoneta finished third at 334, followed by Bath (336), Tiffin Calvert (341), Riverdale (347) and Ridgemont (350).
Van Buren came in eighth (363), followed closely by Bellefontaine (364), Arcadia (367) and Maumee Valley Country Day (369).
Cathleen "Cathi" Ann Atkinson, 67, of Olin, Iowa passed away in her home on August 10 from pancreatic cancer. She was lovingly cared for by her husband and daughter. Cathleen Winegardner was born August 19, 1957 to M Kurtis "Kurt" and Sundra "Sis" Winegardner of Harrod, Ohio. She graduated from Allen East High School in 1975 and gave birth to her son, Eric that summer and a daughter, Kelly in spring of 1981. They lived a short time in McAllen, Texas but mostly resided near Harrod. Cathi worked at Baumgartner Trucking where she later met the love of her life, Mark Atkinson.
Ada man transported to hospital with serious injuries
AUG. 12 MEDIA RELEASE__The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred on August 12, 2025 at approximately 8:47 A.M. The crash occurred at the intersection of Reservoir Road and McClure Road in Jackson Township, Allen County.
Dru Baker, age 22, of Benton Ridge, Ohio was operating a 2009 Toyota MR2, traveling north on McClure Road. James Hilty, age 27, of Ada, Ohio was operating a 2009 Ford F-350 box truck, traveling west on Reservoir Road. The Toyota failed to yield at a posted stop sign and struck the Ford. The Ford then traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a barn. Mr. Baker was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for reported minor injuries. Mr. Hilty was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for reported serious injuries.
ADA __The improving Ada High School boys varsity golf team returns three lettermen from last year’s roster. They will play for first-year head coach Tod Schmidt, a former Bulldog linkster.
The six-player roster includes two seniors and three newcomers.
“We have a young team overall, which will get better as the year progresses,” said Schmidt, who played for Ada from 1977-80. “We are making progress all the time.
AUG 11 MEDIA RELEASE__The Findlay Community Orchestra will begin rehearsal on September 9. Membership is open to anyone interested in playing a string instrument. Some previous experience is required, like participation on orchestra in high school/ college/church.
The orchestra will meet weekly from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Great Room at First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S Main St., Findlay.

The temperature was high but the level of fun was higher, as crowds filled Ada War Memorial Park on August 9 for the 112th Annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic.
The day began with the picnic’s annual parade through Ada on Saturday morning. Events filled the day and into the night until the last entry made its way down the track at the Hardin County Tractor Pullers “Picnic Pull.”
