Haley Williams, a park naturalist, will lead a nature exploration on Friday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m.

ADA__The Ada High School volleyball team lost to visiting Blanchard Valley Conference power Leipsic in straight sets on Monday, October 5.

Ada dropped to 14-5 overall and 3-4 in the BVC after the defeat in their last regular season match at home.

The first-place Vikings improved to 15-2 overall and 7-0 in the BVC after the 25-17, 29-27, 25-16 victory.

Tea Griffith hit seven kills, served three aces, hustled her way to 10 digs and passed out 16 assists. She also came up with a solo block and made three assisted blocks.

Crisp autumn air and sunny skies greeted cryptid enthusiasts at the third annual Ohio Bigfoot Jamboree at Ada’s War Memorial Park on October 3. (A cryptid is a being whose existence is known through folklore and individual accounts, but has yet to be confirmed by physical or scientific proof.) 

Coordinated by Jay Wolber and Justin England—hosts of the Cryptids of the Corn podcast and veterans of the Bigfoot event circuit—the Ohio Bigfoot Jamboree brought together vendors, guest speakers and fans from across the region and beyond.

Judith E. “Judy” Tarr Austin, age 75, of Ada, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on December 4, 1950, in Lima, Ohio, to Charles Jones and Jean (Davis) Gilbert. Her father, Charles, mother, Jean and stepfather, James Gilbert, all preceded her in death.

This event will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2027, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Upper Scioto Valley High School in McGuffey, Ohio.

All proceeds from this event will go to the USV Performing Arts Boosters to help support the Performing Arts students (Band, Drama, Choir & elementary music programs) of USV.

FROM FACEBOOK__The Elzay Gallery of Art at Ohio Northern University is pleased to present Poster for Tomorrow’s “Work Right!” poster exhibition. The show is on display from October 5–28, 2026. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. (closed Saturday and Sunday). The event is free and open to the public.

Work Right! exhibit is comprised of 100 posters from international artists and designers serving as a launchpad for thoughtful debate on workers’ rights. A jury of renowned graphic designers selected the top 100 from more than 4,300 entries. Posters cover a variety of workers’ rights topics from child labor to gender discrimination to human trafficking.
