HARROD - The visiting Ada volleyball team swept a surprisingly one-sided makeup match at backyard rival Allen East in Northwest Conference play Monday night.
The Lady Bulldogs won 25-20, 25-10, 25-14 to improve to 11-7 overall and stay atop the NWC at 5-0. AE fell to 9-2 and 4-2 in the NWC with the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs have now won 13 consecutive league matches.
Ada senior Melina Woods knocked down 22 kills, made five digs and added four blocks to pace the victors.
Now that's one mean Bulldog trying to chew up anything and everything while the crowning of the king and queen takes place. Columbus Grove football players were shaking in their boots watching this tough guy. The 4-month-old Elsie belongs to Bo and Shaylin Ledley. Enjoying the pup's antics are junior attendants Avary Acheson and Derek Dennis.

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
The junior earned the honor for the second time this season.
McVey posted a historic effort for the men's cross country team at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend.
For the first time in school history, Northern saw a men's cross country runner take the individual title at the All-Ohio Championships as McVey won the race in a season-low 25:14.
McVey led Northern to a first place finish as a team at the championships.
