MEDIA RELEASE__Ada Exempted Village Schools has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce with the prestigious District Momentum Award, honoring exceptional academic growth and continued student achievement.

The Momentum Award is presented to districts and buildings that demonstrate significant improvement in their Performance Index—gaining three or more points year-over-year—while also earning a 4- or 5-star rating on the Progress component of the state report card. Additional criteria ensure that recipients maintain strong overall performance without top-tier ratings or accountability flags, highlighting meaningful and sustained growth.

ADA – The Ada High School baseball team played a solid game to defeat visiting North Baltimore 5-2 in a non-league contest on Saturday, April 11.

The Bulldogs led 2-1 after the first inning. Both teams plated a run in the third frame. Ada then put the game away with two insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-2 overall with the victory. North Baltimore dropped to 5-5 after the defeat.

KALIDA__The visiting Ada High School softball team continued to run roughshod over its opponents with an 18-1 shellacking of non-conference foe Kalida on Saturday, April 11 to stay undefeated.

Ada senior right fielder Alainee Buxton enjoyed a career-day with a double, two singles, six runs batted in and a run scored.

The Bulldog girls scored early and often to invoke the 10-run mercy rule after five innings.

Ada improved to 10-0 overall with the decisive victory in their first road game. Kalida fell to 2-5 after the five-inning loss.

War Memorial Park continues to improve its picnic shelter game. The replacement of Shelter #2 will be complete near the end of May. There are 10 shelters and a park building meeting room available for rental. Shelters are $50 and the meeting room with a bathroom is $100.
