UPDATED APRIL 9 / Vincent D. Whitehead, 1959-2026

Vincent D. Whitehead, 66, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at his residence after a courageous two and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Vincent was born on June 29, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to Frederick and Janet (Henderson) Whitehead. On July 28, 1979, he married Cheryl (Bowerman) Whitehead, who survives in Harrod.

FROM FACEBOOK__Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative posted on Wednesday, April 8, "as of 8:22 a.m., power was restored to members affected by the outage. Crews worked to bypass the substation to provide power in the area."

We are currently experiencing an outage in the areas around Ada, affecting approximately 581 members served by the Ada substation. The transmission feed to the substation was lost, and our crews are currently at work to restore power.

The 13th annual 2026 Collegiate Robotic Football Playoffs and National Championship heads to Ada, Ohio, on April 11 and 12.

This year, the festivities will be hosted at King Horn Fieldhouse on the campus of the back-to-back champions, Ohio Northern University. The 2026 installment will bring together top robotic football programs from across the nation for a weekend that combines engineering excellence with competitive fire.

Ohio Northern seniors Nathan Clark (Cleaves/Elder) and Selby Wilt (Findlay), junior Nathan Herbert (Medina/Highland) and sophomore Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North) were named Academic All-District in men's swimming and diving for 2025-26 by the College Sports Communicators.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Swimming and Diving Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
