ONU to present ‘The Improvised Shakespeare Company’
Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts kicks off its studio series when it presents “The Improvised Shakespeare Company” in the Stambaugh Studio Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written), “The Improvised Shakespeare Company” creates a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before your eyes. Nothing is planned, rehearsed or written. All of the dialogue is said for the first time, the characters are created as you watch, and the story can end up anywhere.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, non-ONU students, and ONU faculty and staff, and $7 for children and ONU students. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are available online at www.freedcenter.com
A pre-show special will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. at Jalapeno’s Mexican Grill at 109 North Main Street in Ada. “Improvised Shakespeare” ticketholders will receive a free drink with any purchase.
