June 14 - it's Flag Day

Today is Flag Day, and the Lila Pifer home at Main and State Route 81 is all decked out to observe the occasion. Lila stands on the balcony of her big brick home surrounded by a flag and a red, white, and blue umbrella turned on its side.

Lima Symphony Orchestra comes to Ada

The Lima Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day with its fourth annual Patriotic Pops Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at Ohio Northern University.

Hull's Trace Wine Cellar, 105 E. Liberty St., Arlington, will host its first Sit and Sip with author David C Greer, from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June. 23.

Greer, a practicing trial lawyer from Dayton, will share some of the stories from his recently published book "God is Merciful: The Colorful Career of John E Egan."

His presentation will include tales about John Dillinger, Alvin Karpis, Al Capone and J. Edgar Hoover. Stay for the crimes which made Ohio headlines while having your picture taken with Dillinger or Capone.

Volunteers needed this summer

The next bereavement dinner hosted by ReStore is at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 14. ReStore will host the evening meal. It is open to anyone experiencing a close, personal loss.

ReStore, 210 N. Main St., Ada, holds the breavement dinners on the second Thursday of each month. July's dinner will be on July 12.

Several additional programs take place at ReStore this summer. Euchre is played each Thursday at 1 p.m. and persons are invited to  join in the games.
