MAY 7 MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance announces the selection of Jennifer Ramge as the Kenton Historic Courthouse District Coordinator & Alliance Program Assistant.
In her role as Kenton Historic Courthouse District Coordinator, Ramge will be responsible for promoting business activation and development by coordinating the Downtown Kenton Building & Business Owners Association (DBA), supporting historic preservation, planning events and collaborating with other organizations.
MAY 8 ONU.EDU/NEWS__Ohio Northern University isn’t exactly known for loud, raucous mayhem, but on May 9, 1975, things were different.
On that night, the now legendary rock band KISS performed for a packed, frenzied crowd in the newly-opened King Horn Sports Center. KISS debuted what would be become their anthem, “Rock ’n Roll All Nite," and their pyrotechnics scorched the ceiling.

KENTON – The visiting Ada softball team defeated Hardin County rival Kenton 13-3 in a run-rule shortened bout on a cool Thursday evening, May 8.
The Bulldog girls broke the game open with five runs in the third inning. They tallied six more runs in the fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.
The Bulldogs improved to 18-3 overall with the five-inning, non-league victory. With that 18th win, Ada tied the program record for wins in a season set last year.
The Village of Ada Council held a regular meeting and a safety services meeting on the evening of May beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Icon attended via Zoom, which an option available via a link provided at https://www.adaoh.gov/board-meetings/
RESOLUTIONS
Two resolutions were approved. The first accepted the bid of Bluffton Paving, Inc. as the lowest and best bid for the 2025 Village of Ada street and alley maintenance with milling and asphalt overlaying. The second accepted a proposal from Pac Engineering, LLC for the Village wastewater treatment plant SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) improvements project.
