KALIDA__The visiting Ada High School softball team continued to run roughshod over its opponents with an 18-1 shellacking of non-conference foe Kalida on Saturday, April 11 to stay undefeated.

Ada senior right fielder Alainee Buxton enjoyed a career-day with a double, two singles, six runs batted in and a run scored.

The Bulldog girls scored early and often to invoke the 10-run mercy rule after five innings.

Ada improved to 10-0 overall with the decisive victory in their first road game. Kalida fell to 2-5 after the five-inning loss.

War Memorial Park continues to improve its picnic shelter game. The replacement of Shelter #2 will be complete near the end of May. There are 10 shelters and a park building meeting room available for rental. Shelters are $50 and the meeting room with a bathroom is $100. There has been a recent increase in cases of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in our community. SIDS is the leading cause of death for children under the age of one. These losses are heartbreaking for the families and for our community. While not every infant death has a preventable cause, many are associated with risk factors, including unsafe sleep. As parents, there are things that can be done to decrease the risk of SIDS. 

MEDIA RELEASE__Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative's Annual Meeting of Members premiered this week, coinciding with the cooperative’s celebration of 90 years of service to members in its rural north-central Ohio territory.

The meeting was held in a virtual online-only format, allowing members the opportunity to log in at their convenience and view a co-op update, receive annual election results, and submit for a $20 meeting attendance energy credit.
